Ensuring Seamless Travels: A Guide to Updating FASTag KYC Before the January 31 Deadline

In anticipation of the January 31 deadline, it’s crucial to update your FASTag KYC details to prevent deactivation or blacklisting by banks. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has announced strict measures to streamline and authenticate the toll collection system.

NHAI’s ‘One Vehicle, One FASTag’ initiative aims to boost efficiency and discourage the use of a single FASTag for multiple vehicles or linking multiple FASTags to one vehicle. To ensure a hassle-free experience at toll plazas, it’s essential to comply with the KYC requirements.

Checking FASTag Status Online

Follow these steps to check your FASTag status online:

  1. Visit the website fastag.ihmcl.com.
  2. Click on ‘Login’ and provide your mobile number and password details.
  3. Enter the OTP sent via text message to complete the login.
  4. Navigate to the ‘My Profile’ tab and select the KYC status option.

Updating FASTag KYC Online

To update your FASTag KYC online, follow these steps:

  1. Visit fastag.ihmcl.com.
  2. In the ‘My Profile’ section, open the ‘KYC’ tab.
  3. Provide the required details, including identity and address proof documents.
  4. Upload a passport-size photo.
  5. Confirm the declaration and click ‘submit.’
  6. The KYC process will be updated within a maximum of seven working days.

Required Documents for FASTag KYC Update

Ensure you have the following documents for the FASTag KYC update, following RBI guidelines:

  • Registration certificate of the vehicle
  • Identity proof and address proof (Passport, Voter’s ID, Aadhar Card, Driving license, PAN card, NREGA Job card)
  • Passport-size photo

In case of any confusion regarding KYC updates, FASTag users can reach out to the nearest toll plazas or use the toll-free customer care numbers provided by their respective issuer banks.
