Vivo X100 Series: Launch Date Confirmed, Design Teased, and Key Details Revealed

Published on

The highly-anticipated Vivo X100 series, set to succeed the Vivo X90 lineup, is generating buzz among smartphone enthusiasts. The series is poised to consist of three models, mirroring its predecessor: the base Vivo X100, Vivo X100 Pro, and Vivo X100 Pro+. Over the past few weeks, specifications and design renders of these phones have surfaced online, building up excitement among consumers.

Recently, the base model of the Vivo X100 appeared on an e-commerce site, hinting at its price range. Vivo has now officially confirmed the launch date for the Vivo X100 series in China. The design of the Vivo X100 Pro has also been officially teased, shedding light on what consumers can expect from this upcoming release.

In a Weibo post, Vivo announced that the Vivo X100 series will make its debut in China on November 13 at 7:00 pm local Beijing time (4:30 pm IST). In addition to the phones, the company will also unveil the Vivo Watch 3 with BlueOS on the same day, as confirmed by another post and banner on the Vivo China website.

Meanwhile, a Vivo official on Weibo shared a sneak peek of the design of the Vivo X100 Pro. The phone boasts a striking blue ripple glass finish, drawing inspiration from the sky and celestial objects. The substantial circular rear camera module is prominently centered towards the top of the back panel. This module features four camera sensors and a vertical LED flash unit situated at the top right corner, outside the module.

Reports suggest that the Vivo X100 Pro will feature a 1-inch Sony IMX989 primary rear sensor, a Samsung JN1 sensor with an ultra-wide lens, and an OmniVision OV64B telephoto shooter with 4.3x optical zoom. The base model is expected to offer a similar camera setup, differing only in its use of a Sony IMX920 sensor as the primary camera and a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.

Both Vivo X100 models are anticipated to feature LPDDR5T RAM. The base model is likely to be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC, while the Pro model is rumored to come with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The top-tier Vivo X100 Pro+ is speculated to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, promising exceptional performance.

As for pricing, an earlier report suggested that the Vivo X100 variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of built-in storage may be available at CNY 3,999 (approximately Rs. 45,500). This pricing appears competitive, especially considering that the Vivo X90 variant with 8GB + 256GB storage was originally listed in India at Rs. 59,999 at launch, while the 12GB + 256GB variant was priced at Rs. 84,999.

With the official launch date set and exciting design features and specifications, the Vivo X100 series is shaping up to be a compelling addition to the smartphone market. Smartphone enthusiasts and Vivo fans alike have much to look forward to with this upcoming release.
