Meta, the parent company of Instagram and Facebook, has introduced a new data privacy feature, “Activity Off-Meta Technologies,” that enables users to prevent Instagram from tracking their online activity. Originally available for Facebook, this feature has now been extended to Instagram, allowing users to have more control over their data privacy.
With “Activity Off-Meta Technologies,” users can manage the connection between their Facebook and Instagram accounts and the data collected by other businesses that is sent to Meta. This feature provides users with the ability to review the businesses that access their data, disconnect specific businesses, or clear the data entirely.
This enhancement reflects Meta’s commitment to giving users more control over their online privacy and data tracking, offering greater transparency and customization of their data-sharing preferences on both the Instagram and Facebook platforms.
