The Honor 90 5G, a smartphone that marked the return of the Honor brand to the Indian market, is currently available at discounted prices as part of Amazon’s ongoing Great Indian Festival sale.

Launched in India by HTech in September, the Honor 90 5G initially made its debut in China earlier this year in May. HTech, the company responsible for its launch in India, has undertaken the task of manufacturing and distributing Honor products in the country. The Honor 90 boasts a standout feature with its impressive 200-megapixel primary rear camera, and it prides itself on being free of any bloatware. Furthermore, it guarantees two years of Android software updates for Indian users.

In a recent interview, Madhav Sheth, CEO of HTech, shed light on the company’s current and future plans. According to Sheth, HTech has already invested Rs. 400 crore in setting up operations and distribution networks for the Honor brand in India. He confirmed that more Honor products are slated for launch in the coming months, although specific details were not disclosed.

Sheth also revealed that HTech is in discussions with three contract manufacturers in India and aims to commence local manufacturing of Honor smartphones by the first quarter of 2024, between January and March.

Considering India as a key growth market within the global Honor family, Sheth emphasized that the company’s 2024 strategy is firmly in place. While he remained tight-lipped about the specifics, he hinted at having “something big” planned for the Indian market.

With the Honor 90 5G, HTech is targeting sales of 50,000 units through both online and offline channels during the ongoing festive season. Sheth expressed optimism in achieving sales of up to Rs. 60 crore during this period.

The Amazon Great Indian Festival sale, which commenced on October 8, brings with it significant deals and offers for the Honor 90 5G. As part of the sale, the 8GB + 256GB variant of the phone is available for as low as Rs. 26,999, while the 12GB + 512GB variant can be purchased for Rs. 29,999, inclusive of all offers.
