In a stellar performance for Haryana in the 2024 Ranji Trophy, Rahul Tewatia showcased his cricketing prowess by achieving his maiden century and contributing significantly with the ball.

Maiden Century Decoded: Rahul Tewatia’s outstanding performance unfolded as he converted his overnight score of 51 into a memorable maiden century during the match against Jharkhand. On Day 1, he guided Haryana to a solid position, scoring 338/6 from 89 overs. Continuing his fine form on Day 2, Tewatia added another 93 runs, ultimately finishing with a commendable 144. His stellar knock played a crucial role in Haryana posting a total of 509/10 in 134.5 overs.

Defining Partnership: Tewatia’s century was not only an individual feat but also part of a defining 225-run partnership with Sumit Kumar. Coming to the crease when Haryana was at 247/5, Tewatia’s unbeaten stand with Kumar contributed 67 runs. On Day 2, the duo continued their solid partnership, stitching an additional 158 runs before both players fell at the team total of 496.

Impressive Batting Stats: Playing his 13th match in first-class cricket, Tewatia has accumulated 456 runs at an average of approximately 20. Prior to this century, his highest score in first-class cricket was 64. The innings against Jharkhand featured an impressive 24 fours and a six. In the ongoing Ranji season, Tewatia has amassed 266 runs from six matches at an impressive average of 44.33, with both his fifty-plus scores occurring this season.

Bowling Impact: Adding to his all-round performance, Tewatia made a significant impact with the ball. After Haryana’s innings concluded at 509, Jharkhand struggled at 119/9. Tewatia, displaying his bowling skills, claimed a wicket with just his second delivery. Ending the day on a high, he now boasts 30 first-class scalps at an average of around 20.
