Mumbai Police Issues Crucial Advisory for ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Semifinal: Key Guidelines for Spectators

In preparation for the highly anticipated ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 semifinal clash between India and New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai Police has released a comprehensive traffic advisory. Pravin Mundhe, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Zone 1, assured that these measures aim to enhance security without causing inconvenience to spectators.

Security Tightened for High-Octane Clash

Deputy Commissioner Mundhe emphasized the importance of a safe and secure match experience. Spectators are urged to arrive early, with entry starting at 11:30 AM, well in advance of the scheduled 2:00 PM match time.

Security Check Guidelines

To expedite security checks, attendees are advised not to carry bags, power banks, papers, objectionable pamphlets, posters, pens, or any such items. Inflammable articles, lighters, matchboxes, and tobacco products are strictly prohibited. Public transport is recommended, as there is no parking available near the stadium.

Train Station Recommendations

For efficient access to specific gates, spectators using Churchgate station are directed to Gates 1, 2, and 7, while those alighting at Marine Lines station should use Gates 3, 4, and 5A.

Traffic Diversions

To manage traffic effectively, certain roads will be one-way during the event. Matchgoers are advised to plan their routes accordingly.

Parking Restrictions

Parking restrictions are in place for various roads surrounding the stadium. Attendees are encouraged to use public transport, with a few official parking lots near Churchgate station available for use.

Official Parking Lots

Several official parking lots, including CR 02 Mall, Income Tax Office, Akashvani, Jivan Bima Marg, Nathibai Takkarsi, D Mulla Road, Nashikrao Tripude Marg, and Marine Lines Cross Road, have been designated for spectators.

Black Market Ticket Warning

Mumbai Police strongly condemns the buying and selling of tickets in the black market. Recent arrests and efforts by law enforcement underscore the importance of obtaining tickets through legitimate channels.
