This revelation occurred at the prestigious Dubai Globesoccer Awards, where Ronaldo not only shared insights into his opinion but also reflected on his impressive performance throughout the year.

Having orchestrated a series of high-profile signings upon joining Saudi side Al Nassr, Ronaldo is confident in his assertion that the Middle-Eastern nation’s league provides a higher level of competition compared to the French counterpart. In his words, “The level right now, to be honest, I think the Saudi League is not worse than the French League, in my opinion.”

Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, elaborated on the comparative analysis by stating, “In the French league, there are two or three teams at a good level. In Saudi Arabia, I find it’s more competitive, they can say what they want, it’s my opinion, I’ve played here for a year so I know what I’m saying. But I think right now we are better than the French League.”

Despite approaching his 39th birthday, Ronaldo concluded the year 2023 as the top scorer, expressing pride in surpassing younger talents like Haaland. “I was the best goalscorer. Imagine beating the young lions, like Haaland, for example. I’m 39 soon and I’m still looking good, so I’m proud,” shared the Al Nassr player.

Apart from discussing his own accomplishments, Ronaldo also shared his perspective on European football. Following his departure from Manchester United and praising cross-town rivals Manchester City, he opined, “I think Manchester City has a great chance of winning the Champions League again this season,” much to the intrigue of football enthusiasts and the dismay of loyal Manchester United fans.

In this comprehensive review of Ronaldo’s insights and achievements, it is evident that the seasoned player brings not only skill to the Saudi Pro League but also a unique perspective on the global football landscape.
