One of the recent films that has released with good buzz from Bollywood is the Hindi film “Param Sundari” starring the beauty Janhvi Kapoor as the heroine and Siddharth Malhotra as the hero. Let’s see how this film is in the review.
Story:
With the desire to become a good businessman like his father, Param (Siddharth Malhotra) starts some startups and fails but does not give up his grip. One day, he tells his father (Sanjay Kapoor) a trendy idea, but his father does not agree to give him the necessary money for it. With this, Param starts a solo attempt to prove himself somehow. What happened after the introduction of the beautiful Damodaram Pillai (Janvi Kapoor) who came on this journey? What will they do together? To know whether Param has achieved his desired goal or not, you have to watch this movie.
Plus Points:
In the past few years, there were good musical chartbusters from Bollywood cinema, but such films have been decreasing day by day. However, in terms of music treat, Param Sundari has always been a good treat in theaters for those who are missing such films.
The music given by Sachin-Jigar is a major plus for the film. Leaving aside the story, the film guarantees a minimum treat in terms of music. Also, the first part of the film impresses. The chemistry between the main leads is good. Also, the comedy scenes here and there are engaging.
It can be said that Sidharth Malhotra impressed with his charming looks and good performance in the lead pair. Similarly, Janhvi Kapoor also appeared in a good fresh role and impressed. Her expressions and looks are very good. Interestingly, Janhvi is perfectly suited as a Malayali girl. She has also changed so much.
Minus Points:
Many aspects of this film are okay to some extent, but there are no proper emotions in the film. This is a big minus. Even some scenes with a pony do not seem to have much impact on the audience. The music and some comedy moments seem so natural that some scenes are not worked out in terms of emotions.
Also, some scenes in the main lead track seem meaningless. The damage done to the heroine by the hero and her simply accepting the hero’s love seem very simple. Depth is missing here. Also, the second half, which seems okay, is disappointing from the fast-paced.
Most of the unnecessary lag is seen in this movie. The editing team should have done a little work here. Unnecessary scenes should have been reduced. This entire part was unnecessarily stretched. Also, there is an opportunity to give more scope to the other actors appearing in the movie, but the director did not use it.
Technical category:
The production values are good in this movie. The entire setup is richly planned where and how it is needed. As mentioned in the beginning, the music in the technical team is amazing. The songs and score are a big plus for the movie. The camera work is very good. Editing was good in the first half but it got dull in the second half.
Now, when it comes to Tushar Jalota’s direction… his work is somewhat okay but somewhat disappointing. The film was planned in a solid musical sense. He also designed a decent first half but the momentum was missed in the second half. He also could not handle the emotions properly. With these, his work seems to be somewhat okay.
Verdict:
Overall, it can be said that this ‘Param Sundari’ is a routine musical treat. The main lead actors, especially the music, are a big plus in the film. But if there were stories to match these, they would have been more valuable. The lack of proper emotions could not make a dull second half of the film fully impressive. If the film could be saved only up to the music, it would be considered amazing.
