In a festive move to accommodate the surge in passenger demand during the holiday season, Indian Railways has introduced a special Vande Bharat Express train service between Howrah and New Jalpaiguri (NJP) railway stations.
Managed by the Eastern Railway (ER) zone, this special Vande Bharat Express will operate until November 29, 2023, providing a convenient travel option for commuters.
This marks the third Vande Bharat Express Special train launched by Indian Railways during the festive period. The other two routes covered by these special trains are New Delhi-Patna Junction-New Delhi and Chennai Egmore-Tirunelveli-Chennai Egmore.
To address the increased demand, the Eastern Railway zone has augmented the Vande Bharat Express service between Howrah and New Jalpaiguri, adding 6768 reserved seats. This strategic move aims to alleviate the challenges posed by the higher passenger influx during the festive season.
