The Uttar Pradesh government is gearing up for Diwali by bringing good news to its employees. In an official announcement, the government has decided to grant a bonus to non-gazetted employees and increase the dearness allowance (DA) by 4%. This increase will also benefit pensioners, bringing festive cheer to a significant portion of the state’s workforce.
The move comes in the wake of the Centre’s recent announcement of a 4% increase in DA, prompting the state government to follow suit. A senior official confirmed that the finance department’s proposal has been dispatched to the Chief Minister’s office for approval from Yogi Adityanath.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has assured that the bonus and DA hike will be disbursed to employees before Diwali, ensuring that they can celebrate the festival with extra joy. The state government has been urged to calculate the bonus based on a minimum monthly wage of Rs 18,000. Currently, the state government’s bonus calculation maxes out at Rs 7,000, with 75% of the amount being deposited into employees’ provident fund accounts.
This decision will benefit nearly 16 lakh state government employees in Uttar Pradesh, making their Diwali celebrations even more special.
In summary, the Uttar Pradesh government’s announcement of a Diwali bonus and a 4% increase in DA for its employees reflects its commitment to their well-being and happiness during the festive season. This move aligns with the Center’s decision to increase DA, ensuring that state employees can enjoy the festivities with added financial security.
