In a shocking incident at Ghazipur Dairy Farm in east Delhi, a 27-year-old man lost his life in a targeted shooting while driving with coworkers on Wednesday morning, as reported by the police. The victim, identified as Saurabh Kumar, worked at a waste management power plant company.
The police swiftly registered a murder case at the Ghazipur police station, and an intensive investigation is underway. The three coworkers who were in the car during the attack are currently under questioning. The police are diligently reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity to determine if the assailants were passersby or individuals on a bike.
The investigation is also considering the possibility of a stray bullet being responsible for the tragic incident. The police are exploring all angles to understand the circumstances leading to Saurabh Kumar’s untimely demise.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Amrutha Guguloth provided details of the initial response, stating that they received a distress call at 6:18 am about a man with a gunshot wound inside a car. Upon arrival, the police found Saurabh Kumar shot in the head, lying on the road next to a parked grey car. Despite immediate efforts, he was declared brought dead at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital.
Saurabh Kumar, a native of Bijnor district in Uttar Pradesh, was the driver of the vehicle, accompanied by three colleagues, with Chander Prakash seated in the front passenger’s seat.
Forensic experts have been deployed to collect evidence at the crime scene, and the family of the deceased has been notified. The investigation is actively ongoing, with the police examining CCTV footage for potential leads in this tragic case.
