As India eagerly awaits its 75th Republic Day on Friday, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a crucial advisory concerning vehicle parking arrangements at major railway stations in the capital. In preparation for the grand celebrations, parking lots at New Delhi, Old Delhi, Nizamuddin, and Anand Vihar railway stations will be off-limits from 10 pm on Thursday to 12 pm on Friday, according to the official advisory.
“In light of Republic Day festivities, the general public is notified that parking vehicles in the designated lots at New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway Station, Nizamuddin Railway Station, and Anand Vihar Railway Station will be prohibited from 10 pm on Thursday to 12 pm on Friday,” emphasizes the advisory.
However, the advisory assures that pick-up and drop vehicles will still be available outside the railway stations. Urging citizens to opt for public transport, the police emphasize, “All are advised to use public transport vehicles. The pick-up and drop vehicles will be available outside railway stations for the use of commuters/passengers.”
This year’s Republic Day parade promises to be a remarkable spectacle, taking place at Kartavya Path. Scheduled to commence at 10:30 am on January 26, the parade will journey from Vijay Chowk to Kartavya Path. With a focus on women empowerment, the parade will feature themes such as ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Bharat-Loktantra ki Matruka.’ Notably, an all-women tri-services contingent, including troops from the Army’s military police, will participate for the first time.
Adding an international touch to the event, France’s President Emmanuel Macron will be the chief guest at Republic Day Parade 2024. A contingent from France, comprising Indian and Nepali-origin members, will march alongside a French refueling aircraft and two French Rafale jets.
With security being a top priority, over 14,000 security personnel have been strategically deployed in and around Kartavya Path. The capital city is equipped with the latest technology and human intelligence surveillance to fortify security measures, ensuring a safe and joyous celebration of the nation’s 75th Republic Day.
