Renowned Malayalam actor Kundara Johny passed away on Tuesday, October 17, at the age of 71, while being treated at a private hospital in Kollam, Kerala. He was widely celebrated for his exceptional talent in portraying antagonist roles in the world of Malayalam cinema.

On October 17, the veteran actor was rushed to a private hospital after experiencing a sudden cardiac arrest. Sadly, he couldn’t overcome this medical emergency and left us. The complete details of his funeral arrangements are still pending.

Kundara Johny embarked on his journey in the Malayalam film industry with humble, uncredited roles. It was in 1979, in his early twenties, when he made his official debut. His performances in films like ‘Agniparvatham,’ ‘Nithya Vasantham,’ ‘Rajavinte Makan,’ and ‘Aavanazhi’ gradually earned him recognition among the cinephiles.

Nevertheless, it was his mastery in portraying antagonists that truly elevated his status in the industry. His portrayal of Nambiar in ‘Nadodikkattu’ remains etched in the memory of cinema lovers as an iconic character. He also left a lasting impression in movies like ‘Oru CBI Diary Kurippu,’ ‘Kireedam,’ ‘Chenkol,’ and ‘Spadikam,’ to name just a few.

Kundara Johny’s demise has left a void in the hearts of many, and his fans have taken to social media to express their condolences and honor his incredible career. His last movie, ‘Meppadiyan,’ released in 2022, and it serves as a reminder of his enduring legacy in the world of Malayalam cinema.
