Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated projects valued at approximately ₹8,000 crores during his visit to Telangana. Among these initiatives, Modi inaugurated the first 800 MW unit of phase 1 of the Telangana Super Thermal Power Project by NTPC.
During his visit, PM Modi highlighted the Indian Railways’ ambitious plan to achieve 100% electrification of all rail lines in the coming months.
Additionally, he dedicated several railway projects to the nation, including the new rail line connecting Manoharabad and Siddipet, as well as the electrification projects between Dharmabad-Manoharabad and Mahabubnagar-Kurnool.
Furthermore, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for 20 critical care blocks (CCBs) as part of the Pradhan Mantri – Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission.
In a public meeting in Nizamabad, Telangana, organized by the BJP, PM Modi addressed the gathering. During his speech, he criticized the Congress and the Opposition INDIA bloc, particularly for their 30-year delay in passing the Women’s Reservation Bill.
Regarding the railway projects, the 76 km Manoharabad-Siddipet rail line is expected to contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of the region, particularly in the Medak and Siddipet districts. The electrification project between Dharmabad-Manoharabad and Mahabubnagar-Kurnool will enhance train speeds and promote eco-friendly rail transport in the area.
PM Modi also flagged off the Siddipet-Secunderabad-Siddipet train service, which will benefit local rail commuters.
Highlighting the BJP’s role in the creation of Telangana, PM Modi drew a parallel between himself and Sardar Patel, emphasizing their contributions to the region’s development. He commended Telangana for its talent and mentioned the state’s role in COVID-19 vaccine production and distribution.
However, PM Modi accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government in Telangana of misappropriating central funds meant for the state’s development.
