Late on Saturday night, a passenger named Swapnil Holey, traveling on the Nagpur-Bengaluru Indigo flight 6E 6803, was taken into custody for allegedly attempting to open the emergency exit door while the flight crew was briefing passengers.
Seated next to the emergency exit door, Holey made the attempt, prompting the airline staff to take immediate action. Following a complaint by the airline staff, Bengaluru police detained Holey and subsequently booked him under IPC Section 336 for endangering the lives of others. He was later released on bail.
Upon arrival at Bengaluru International Airport, the airline staff escorted the accused passenger to the Bengaluru Airport police station. Holey had originally booked a ticket to Bangkok for a flight on October 1.
Further investigations into the incident are ongoing.
