NIA Initiates Case Against Khalistani Operative Gurpatwant Singh Pannun for Air India Threats

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) took swift action on Monday by registering a case against Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the founder of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), and a designated terrorist. The case pertains to a threatening video in which Pannun warned of significant disruptions at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on November 19.

In the video released on November 4, Pannun, known for his involvement in promoting enmity and carrying out unlawful activities, issued a stern warning. He declared that the airport’s name would be changed, and it would be closed on the specified date.

Furthermore, he specifically targeted travelers planning to use Air India on that day, cautioning them about potential dangers to their lives.

The NIA, in its official statement, outlined the charges against Pannun, including criminal conspiracy, promoting enmity between different groups, and criminal intimidation under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Additionally, he faces charges under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, covering membership in an unlawful association, participation in unlawful activities, and various other terror-related offenses.

This incident follows Pannun’s previous threats on October 10, where he warned Prime Minister Narendra Modi, drawing parallels to the Israel-Palestine conflict and hinting at potential repercussions in India.

Pannun, who has been on the NIA’s radar since 2019, has been accused of playing a key role in advocating and commissioning terror acts, spreading fear, and promoting violence in Punjab and other parts of India through his intimidation strategies.

As the NIA intensifies its efforts to curb the activities of Khalistani operatives, this recent case against Pannun underscores the gravity of the situation and the need for a comprehensive approach to counteract such threats to national security.
