Mumbai’s ‘Golden Man’ Living Statue Assaulted by Policeman at Bandra Bandstand” In a disturbing incident that appears to be a case of police brutality, a constable engaged in a physical altercation with Girjesh Goud, famously known as ‘The Living Statue’ or ‘Golden Man,’ at Mumbai’s Bandstand. A video capturing the incident has gone viral on social media, showing the constable pushing, shoving, and even striking the artist with a stick.
Fortunately, several onlookers at the scene stepped in to assist the artist, with some attempting to free him from the policeman’s grasp, ultimately putting an end to the confrontation.
The incident gained widespread attention after Goud shared the video on his Instagram account. An investigation is now underway to determine whether the constable was under the influence of alcohol during the incident.
In his Instagram post, Goud mentioned that the incident occurred around 8 pm on Monday at Bandra Bandstand. He recounted how an allegedly “intoxicated” policeman attacked him with a stick initially and, when he attempted to intervene, grabbed him by the neck, nearly choking him.

The artist further revealed that the policeman threatened to take him to the police station and file a case against him.
