In a tragic turn of events, the assailants behind the murder of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena (SRRKS) President Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi have been identified. The police are currently investigating the case with a focus on a potential land dispute as the motive.
The accused, Rohit Rathore from Rajasthan’s Nagaur and Nitin Fouji from Haryana’s Mahendragarh, allegedly met Gogamedi under the pretext of extending an invitation, only to carry out the heinous act.
Notably, one of the assailants, Naveen Singh Shekhawat, met his end during the escape, having reportedly rented an SUV for the crime. Liquor bottles were found in the vehicle. Rohit Godara, associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, had previously claimed responsibility, citing a land dispute with Gogamedi.
The police are exploring other angles in the investigation, considering the possibility of revenge for the killing of property dealer Vijendra Singh, who was associated with Gogamedi. Fouji, one of the accused, is allegedly an Army personnel on leave, adding another layer of complexity to the case.

To unravel the complexities surrounding Gogamedi’s murder, the Rajasthan Police has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by Additional Director General of Police (Crime) Dinesh MN. A substantial reward is expected to be announced for any information leading to the arrest of the accused.
The aftermath of the tragic incident has led to widespread unrest across Rajasthan. The SRRKS, other Karni Sena factions, and Rajput community members have called for a statewide bandh, demanding a judicial probe and capital punishment for the perpetrators. The protests have taken a violent turn, with road blockades and demonstrations in various cities, reflecting the deep-seated emotions surrounding this shocking event.
