In a disturbing turn of events in Sirohi district, Rajasthan, the Chairperson of Sirohi Municipal Council, Mahendra Mevada, and former municipal council Commissioner, Mahendra Choudhary, find themselves booked for heinous crimes. The allegations involve drugging, gang-raping, filming, and blackmailing 23 women on the false promise of Anganwadi jobs.
The shocking incident came to light when one victim bravely filed a complaint, revealing a harrowing tale of abuse and manipulation. According to the victim, the accused officials exploited the women’s aspirations for employment in Anganwadi, using the pretext to perpetrate unspeakable crimes.
The complainant, a resident of Rajasthan’s Pali district, detailed how the accused drugged the victims with sedatives hidden in their meals, rendering them unconscious. Subsequently, the accused sexually assaulted the women and recorded the heinous acts. The perpetrators then utilized the recorded footage to extort money from the victims, threatening to expose the videos on social media if they did not comply with their demands.
The victims, who had initially traveled to Sirohi in search of employment opportunities, were provided accommodation and meals by the accused officials. However, they soon discovered the horrifying truth behind the facade of assistance.
Upon regaining consciousness and confronting the perpetrators, the victims were coerced into further engaging in sexual relations under the threat of exposing the recorded videos. The accused allegedly demanded Rs five lakh from each victim to keep the incriminating footage confidential.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Paras Choudhary, initially dismissed the complaint as false. However, the gravity of the situation prompted eight women to file a petition in the Rajasthan High Court, leading to the registration of a case. The police have now initiated a thorough investigation into this distressing incident, aiming to bring justice to the victims and hold the accused accountable for their reprehensible actions.
