Believed to have occurred several days prior to the bodies being discovered, the incident unfolded against a backdrop of reported marital discord. Witnesses revealed that the couple frequently engaged in heated arguments, primarily revolving around the wife’s alleged extra-marital affair. Brindaban had reportedly warned his wife multiple times to end the affair, setting the stage for the tragic events that followed.
The bodies, in an advanced state of decomposition, were found in the locked flat off MS Mukherjee Road in Khardah. A suicide note, discovered in the room where the wife and children were found, pointed to the wife’s alleged extra-marital affair as the suspected motive behind the crime.
Police suspect that Brindaban may have hacked his wife and children to death before taking his own life by hanging. The crime, fueled by suspicions of an illicit affair, is thought to have occurred while the family was sleeping at night, with the bodies remaining undiscovered for several days.
Local sources revealed that the family had been living in the rented flat at ‘Karabi Tower’ in Khardah for over two years. The neighborhood had witnessed the couple’s frequent disputes over the alleged extra-marital affair, despite the trader’s warnings.
