Railway officials explained that the fire erupted due to brake-binding, where the brake did not release from the wheel. Thankfully, no injuries were reported as fire services personnel swiftly responded to the situation, bringing the flames under control.

East Coast Railway spokesperson stated that firefighters and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel acted promptly to extinguish the fire. After releasing the brake, the train resumed its journey from Cuttack around 7:15 am.

As a precautionary measure, passengers were deboarded from the train, and it took approximately 30 minutes to completely douse the fire. The incident highlights the importance of quick response and preventive measures in ensuring passenger safety during unforeseen events.
