Election Commission to Announce Assembly Election Dates for Five States

The Election Commission is set to unveil the schedule for upcoming assembly elections in five states on Monday at 12 noon. The eagerly awaited announcement will provide the dates for assembly elections in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram.

The current term of the Mizoram assembly is slated to conclude on December 17, with the Mizo National Front currently in control of the northeastern state.

For the legislative assemblies of Telangana, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh, their terms are set to expire on different dates in January of the following year.

The ruling party landscape in these states is as follows: Telangana is governed by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), Madhya Pradesh is under the rule of the BJP, and the Congress holds power in both Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.
