Central Government Declares NLFT and ATTF as ‘Unlawful Associations’ Under UAPA

Published on

The Central government has taken a decisive step by designating two Tripura-based organizations and all their factions as ‘unlawful associations’ under the stringent UAPA law. The National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and the All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) will now be classified as ‘unlawful organizations’ for a five-year period.

The Central government’s decision comes in response to the two organizations’ involvement in subversive and violent activities, which have spread fear and violence among the local population in pursuit of their objectives.

It has also been noted that the NLFT and ATTF have established close connections with other unlawful associations in the region and have been responsible for civilian and police casualties.
