Lucknow: In a heartening development for the people of Uttar Pradesh, the state government has extended a generous gift for the festive season. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s recent order assures uninterrupted electricity supply on Diwali, Dhanteras, and Dusshera. This thoughtful initiative aims to enhance the celebratory spirit during these significant occasions.
The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation, under the guidance of Dr. Ashish Kumar Goyal, the Chairman, is diligently working to ensure that this promise of uninterrupted electricity supply becomes a reality. Dr. Goyal expressed his commitment, saying, “Uninterrupted electricity supply to Uttar Pradesh will be ensured on the occasion of these major festivals.”
As the ongoing Navratri festival unfolds, stringent directives have already been issued to bolster electricity supply across the state. Special emphasis is placed on adhering to a fixed schedule, ensuring that every region receives a consistent power supply.
Key directives have been handed down to officials responsible for electricity distribution, mandating uninterrupted power supply from sunset to sunrise. Managing directors of Distribution Companies (Discoms), chief engineers, and officials of the Electricity Corporation are given specific instructions to ensure that Shakti Peethas and religious places receive electricity as per the prescribed schedule during Navratri.
Vigilance and prompt action are encouraged at the local level to swiftly address disruptions in electricity supply, minimizing inconveniences for residents. The Chairman underlined the importance of taking precautionary measures, particularly in addressing issues like dilapidated or hanging wires and cables. Complaints regarding voltage fluctuations and low voltage are to be dealt with promptly. In cases of unexpected power breakdowns, adequate repair teams will be proactively organized to restore power supply. Furthermore, complaints received through toll-free numbers will receive swift resolutions.
The state government has also directed the establishment of special control rooms at both the Discom and district levels, ensuring comprehensive preparations for uninterrupted power supply. In areas where processions or gatherings for idol immersion are anticipated, officials will conduct on-site inspections to fortify the electrical system, reducing the risk of electrical accidents and ensuring a secure environment for public events.
This comprehensive plan not only promises a brighter and more joyful festive season but also reflects the government’s commitment to the well-being and satisfaction of the people of Uttar Pradesh. With this initiative, the state aims to celebrate the spirit of Diwali, Dhanteras, and Dusshera with uninterrupted power, making the festivities even more special for its citizens.
