In a disturbing incident that unfolded in Rajasthan’s Dausa district, a police sub-inspector named Bhupendra has been apprehended for allegedly assaulting a minor girl. The harrowing episode reportedly occurred last Friday, sparking widespread outrage and protests outside the Rahuwas Police Station in the Lalsot area.

The victim, hailing from a Dalit family, has become the focal point of a socio-political storm. BJP Rajya Sabha MP Kirodi Lal Meena, who visited the scene, voiced the public’s anger, stating, “There is immense fury among the people over the rape of a 7-year-old Dalit girl by a policeman in Lalsot. I am on-site to ensure justice for the innocent child.”

The situation escalated as hundreds of protesters gathered, expressing their discontent not only with the police but also directing their ire towards the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot-led state government. Meena took to social media, criticizing the government’s perceived incompetence and accusing the police of unchecked autocracy, even during sensitive occasions like elections.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla condemned the incident, stating, “Humanity has been shamed once again in Rajasthan’s Dausa, where Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had recently gone.” He further highlighted the appalling situation where a sub-inspector allegedly raped a four-year-old girl, and when the father sought justice at the police station, he was reportedly subjected to physical violence.
