Published on

As the winter season approaches, it’s crucial to safeguard your heart from the heightened risk of heart attacks associated with cold temperatures. Key Recommendations for Heart Health:

  1. Healthy Lifestyle Choices: To lower the risk of heart attacks, prioritize a healthy diet, regular sleep, and a consistent waking schedule. Avoid smoking and limit alcohol consumption to protect your heart.
  2. Regular Physical Activity: Incorporate a daily brisk walk of at least 4 kilometers in 40 minutes. Brisk walking enhances heart health and reduces the risk of heart attacks. For those unable to walk, alternative physical activities still provide significant overall health benefits.
  3. Winter Precautions: Stay warm in winter to prevent heart attacks. Choose hot foods over junk food, and if venturing outside in extremely low temperatures, wear warm clothes. Adhering to prescribed heart medications on schedule is vital for managing the condition.

Dr. Vanita Arora highlights the significance of regular heart check-ups, considering a heart attack as a medical emergency with severe consequences that immediate treatment can alleviate. These precautions underscore the importance of staying vigilant during the winter season.
