Apple enthusiasts, mark your calendars! The highly anticipated Apple Vision Pro is set to hit the market, with pre-orders opening in the US on January 19 and official sales commencing on February 2 at Apple Stores.
The visionary device, Apple’s first wearable spatial computer, is expected to fly off the shelves shortly after its release, according to insights from TF Securities International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. With an initial shipment of 60,000 to 80,000 units, the limited supply of the mixed reality headset is likely to lead to swift sell-outs.
Priced at $3,499 (approximately Rs. 2.90 lakh) in the US, the Apple Vision Pro boasts an array of cutting-edge features. Running on the innovative visionOS, a new operating system designed for immersive app experiences, the headset offers users a glimpse into the future of technology.
During a sneak peek at WWDC 2023, Apple showcased the headset’s capabilities, demonstrating how users can leverage the device to view photos, engage in FaceTime calls, watch movies, work, and browse the Internet. Ming-Chi Kuo emphasized that the seamless user experience, coupled with Apple’s groundbreaking technology, could result in a rapid sell-out of the Vision Pro.
Unveiled last year, the Apple Vision Pro comes equipped with high-resolution dual Micro-OLED displays supporting both augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) content. Featuring Apple’s EyeSight technology for a visual representation of the wearer’s eyes in AR mode, the device is powered by the formidable Apple M2 chip and a new R1 chip based on the second-generation M-series processor.
Boasting an impressive array of sensors, including five sensors, 12 cameras, and six microphones, the Vision Pro caters to a diverse range of user needs. Apple is also considering users who wear spectacles, offering Zeiss optical inserts for a seamless experience.
While the headset is launching in the US, there’s no official word from Apple regarding plans to introduce the Vision Pro to other markets, including India. As excitement builds around this groundbreaking technology, Apple enthusiasts are advised to secure their pre-orders on January 19 for a chance to experience the future with the Apple Vision Pro.
