Despite overcoming a technical snag during his Bengaluru show, Das encountered an unexpected yet comical moment with the airport security staff. With his Emmy safely tucked in his luggage, an officer inquired if the award had sharp edges, mistaking it for an idol.

Responding to the query, Das humorously clarified, “Sir, sharp nahi hai. Uska pankh hai (It’s not sharp, the award has a wing).” Displaying the Emmy, he received congratulations from the officer, who then curiously asked about Das’ profession.

“Comedian sir. Joke sunata hu,” Das replied.

The exchange continued with the officer expressing surprise, asking if awards are given for jokes. Das, in good spirits, shared a laugh with the officer, returned the award to his bag, and headed for his flight.

The post quickly went viral, garnering over a million views and numerous reactions from amused social media users. Fans praised Vir Das for bringing humor to unexpected situations, with one user commending, “You bring smiles everywhere, even at security checks.”
