Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert film has achieved remarkable success, reaching a milestone of $250 million in global box office earnings, securing its position as the 19th most successful film of 2023.
According to Variety, this recording of Taylor’s monumental tour ranks as the second highest-grossing concert movie, trailing behind Michael Jackson: This Is It, which sits at the top spot with a collection of $261 million. Swift’s film is poised to potentially surpass this record soon.
The movie documenting Taylor Swift’s grand Eras Tour has resonated strongly, amassing $178.2 million domestically and $71.8 million internationally, solidifying its position as the 11th highest-grossing film of the year in the US. An innovative approach of screening the film from Thursday through Sundays, coupled with slightly elevated ticket prices, may have contributed to its exceptional performance, according to the report.
Upon its release in India on November 3, the film garnered ₹8 crore, as reported by Sacnilk. Taylor Swift is now gearing up to make the movie available for streaming in households across the U.S. and Canada shortly. The 33-year-old singer shared on Instagram that the concert film will be accessible for streaming starting December 13, coinciding with her birthday.
In her Instagram post, Swift expressed her excitement about offering an extended version of the film, including previously omitted songs like ‘Wildest Dreams,’ ‘The Archer,’ and ‘Long Live.’ These tracks, missing from the initial theater release despite the concert’s longer duration, will now be part of the digital release, enhancing the viewer experience for fans worldwide.
