The Telugu film industry is facing internal complexities as two highly anticipated films, Ravi Teja’s “Eagle” and “Ooru Peru Bhairavakona,” gear up for a clash on February 9. The clash comes after Ravi Teja’s film, originally slated for Sankranti, was moved to the same date, contradicting earlier promises of a solo release.

Kishan’s Reaction to Release Date Conflict

Reacting to the clash, Sundeep Kishan, the lead actor in “Ooru Peru Bhairavakona,” expressed, “Honestly, I wanted my film to be released on Sankranthi too. But there were many releases, and our film, with elements of horror, magic, and fantasy, didn’t seem right at the time.” He further added, “I am a huge fan of [Teja], but no one mentioned that (promise) to us. If they contact, then we will have a discussion about the date.”

Raju’s Promise and Earlier Statements

Earlier in January, Telugu film producer Dil Raju had assured a “grand solo release” to the film that stepped back from the Sankranti clutter. However, the clash now raises questions about the earlier commitment. Raju had emphasized the need to clear the Sankranti clutter for the benefit of the Telugu film industry.

Why ‘Eagle’ Moved; Other Films in the Same Slot

Originally set to compete with multiple films on Sankranti, including “Hanu-Man,” “Guntur Kaaram,” “Captain Miller,” “Saindhav,” “Merry Christmas,” and “Naa Saami Ranga,” “Eagle” shifted its release date. Raju had also requested the makers of “Tillu Square” and “Yatra 2” to adjust their release dates for the industry’s betterment.
