Sonam Kapoor, the epitome of style and elegance, acknowledges the profound impact of her upbringing on her fashion sensibilities. Born into the film industry, she reminisces about the enchanting world of glamour that surrounded her.

According to Sonam, films played a crucial role in shaping trends, especially in a culturally rich country like India. She attributes her deep-rooted interest in fashion to her exposure to the industry from an early age.

Speaking about her mother, Sonam affectionately recounts, “My mom was a model, a highly successful fashion designer, and now she excels as a jewelry designer. Growing up, I was surrounded by luminaries such as Abu Jani, Sandeep Khosla, Tarun Tahiliani, Anamika Khanna, Anuradha Wakil, and many other illustrious fashion designers.

They imparted invaluable lessons on textiles, international fashion, embroidery, and cuts. My mother, in particular, shared her passion for collecting and preserving heritage pieces like old Zari sarees, Jamawar, and antique Zari.”

The actress emphasizes the profound influence of her mother’s multifaceted journey in the fashion industry.

“These experiences were ingrained in me from my formative years. My mother not only exposed me to the nuances of Indian fashion but also introduced me to a plethora of international designers, ranging from French and Italian to Japanese and other Asian luminaries.

Her expertise as a designer and retailer instilled in me a comprehensive understanding of the fashion world.”

Sonam Kapoor, whose impact on luxury brands in India is undeniable, acknowledges her mother’s pivotal role in shaping her identity as a fashion icon. With a nod to the future, Sonam Kapoor is gearing up for two highly anticipated projects, “Battle For Bittora” and an undisclosed venture, promising to captivate audiences with her timeless style and cinematic prowess.
