Story:

Following his release from prison, Manu (Rakshit Shetty) endeavors to reconnect with Priya (Rukmini Vasanth). Determined to rectify her life, he embarks on a journey that introduces him to Surbhi (Chaitra J Achar), a prostitute with dreams. The narrative unfolds as Manu navigates through challenges, aiming to achieve his objectives and intertwining his life with Surbhi’s. The ultimate question remains: Do Manu and Priya eventually cross paths?

Plus Points:

  1. Seamless Continuation: The sequel seamlessly continues the narrative from its predecessor, focusing on bringing happiness to loved ones and orchestrating essential changes in silence.
  2. Compelling Performances: Rakshit Shetty delivers a compelling performance, skillfully portraying the emotions of pain, grief, and helplessness. Chaitra J Achar excels in her role as Surbhi, delivering poignant dialogues.
  3. Supporting Cast: Gopal Krishna Deshpande’s portrayal of Gopal is satisfactory, and the supporting cast fulfills their roles competently.

Minus Points:

  1. Pacing Issues: Despite a simple storyline, the 147-minute duration feels stretched, especially in the first half. Director Hemanth M Rao could have quickened the pace to avoid moments of boredom.
  2. Character Screen Time: Characters played by Ramesh Indira and Achyuth Kumar deserved more screen time. The central character of Priya lacks sufficient screen presence.
  3. Climax Justification: While the climax is well-narrated, Priya’s storyline requires a proper justification, and repetitiveness in the first half contributes to occasional dull moments.

Technical Aspects:

  1. Direction and Screenplay: Director Hemanth M Rao and Gundu Shetty present an improved second part with heartfelt dialogues, but the slow pace hinders the overall screenplay.
  2. Music: Composer Charan Raj enhances the soulful narrative with light-hearted music, contributing to the film’s emotional resonance.
  3. Production Values: Decent production values and impressive cinematography add to the film’s visual appeal. The dubbing is executed effectively.

Sapta Sagaralu Dhaati – Side B offers an emotional drama with commendable performances but struggles with a sluggish narration. Despite the noteworthy acting by Rakshit Shetty, Rukmini Vasanth, and Chaitra J Achar, the film falls slightly short of its predecessor, making it challenging for some viewers to fully connect with the storyline.
