The teaser for the much-anticipated film “Sam Bahadur,” directed by Meghna Gulzar and starring Vicky Kaushal, offers a glimpse into the life of India’s first Field Marshal, Sam Manekshaw. The teaser was unveiled at a grand event in Mumbai on Friday, October 13, and Vicky Kaushal shared it on his Instagram, writing, “Zindagi unki, itihaas hamara” (Their lives, our history).
In the teaser, Vicky Kaushal as Sam Bahadur delivers a motivational message to his soldiers, emphasizing their commitment to their uniforms and their country. It showcases how Sam Bahadur’s leadership played a pivotal role in India’s victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Additionally, the teaser offers glimpses of Fatima Sana Shaikh portraying the former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and reveals that Sanya Malhotra will play Vicky Kaushal’s wife in the film.

Sam Manekshaw’s illustrious military career spanned over four decades and included five wars. He was not only the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal but also led India to a historic victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war, resulting in the birth of Bangladesh.
The film “Sam Bahadur” features a talented ensemble cast, including Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick (as Lord Mountbatten), Richard Bhakti Klein (as Ambassador Keating), Saqib Ayub (Captain Attiqur Rahman), and Krishna Kant Singh Bundela (as Subedar Gurbaksh Singh) in significant roles.
“Sam Bahadur” is set to hit theaters on December 1, where it will go head-to-head with Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna starrer “Animal.” Vicky Kaushal expressed his view that multiple films should be made and released on the same day to provide audiences with more choices, ultimately benefiting the film industry’s growth.
