Instead, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers are invited to gather at his residence, Green Acres, tomorrow at 9:30 am to pay their final respects. The funeral ceremony will then be held at the Oshiwara crematorium at 10:30 am.
Viveck Vaswani, who shared a four-decade-long association with Sanjay, revealed exclusive details about their professional journey and the impact Gadhvi had on the industry. Contrary to the misconception that the funeral was set for November 20, Viveck clarified, “The mourners are requested to assemble at Green Acres tomorrow morning.”
Vaswani reminisced about their early days, tracing back to the time when Sanjay assisted him on Salman Khan’s Patthar Ke Phool in 1991. “He was four years my junior at Campion School, Mumbai,” shared Viveck. “I even knew his wife, Jeena, who worked at my father’s shop. Our connection was deep-rooted, extending beyond professional collaborations.”
Reflecting on Sanjay’s passion for filmmaking, Viveck fondly recalled their discussions about cinema luminaries like Manmohan Desai, Yash Chopra, and Hrishikesh Mukherjee. “We were like one big family, sharing dinners and engaging in conversations about the art we loved,” he added.
Discussing their recent collaboration talks, Vaswani shared, “I was in the process of developing an action-packed show, and I asked myself, ‘Who better than Sanjay after Dhoom (2004)?'” The continuous discussions between the two hinted at an exciting project that unfortunately will remain unrealized.
