Renowned couple Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have initiated legal proceedings against the seller of their Los Angeles residence, citing significant issues that rendered the property virtually unlivable. According to a report from Page Six, the celebrity duo recently vacated their home due to a distressing mold infestation resulting from water damage.
The legal case, filed in May 2023, outlines problems that arose shortly after the purchase, including issues with the pool and spa related to “porous waterproofing,” leading to mold contamination. The complaint highlights a water leak in the barbecue area on the deck, causing damage to the interior living space below, making the house hazardous from a health perspective.
The lawsuit asserts substantial damage and a failure of consideration, prompting the couple to seek rescission of the purchase and sale. The waterproofing issues alone are estimated to exceed $1.5 million, with general damages potentially reaching as high as $2.5 million (approximately Rs 20 crores). Priyanka and Nick are pursuing consequential damages in response to the challenging situation.
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, who tied the knot in December 2018 and have a daughter named Malti Marie Chopra Jonas, often travel for work but are primarily based in Los Angeles. Despite their global commitments, the reported issues with their Los Angeles home have led to legal action against the seller.
Notably, Nick Jonas recently visited India with his brothers for a performance at Lollapalooza, garnering attention on social media. Priyanka, known for her versatile career, last appeared in the Hindi movie “The Sky Is Pink” (2019) and is set to star in Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming film “Jee Le Zaraa” alongside Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif.
