Manoj Bajpayee, renowned for his role in the crime thriller series Killer Soup, recently stirred social media with a shirtless photo flaunting his sculpted abs on New Year’s Day. However, the actor has now clarified that the viral picture was, in fact, a strategically morphed image.
In a candid conversation with The Indian Express, Bajpayee addressed the intrigue surrounding his apparent physical transformation. He revealed that the shirtless photo was part of a deliberate promotional campaign for his latest series, Killer Soup, which premiered on an OTT platform.

The actor explained, “The OTT platform wanted to kick off the campaign with a bang, creating curiosity, and they successfully achieved it.” The Instagram post, shared on January 1, featured Bajpayee confidently displaying his chiseled physique with well-defined abs and an intense expression. In a humorous caption, he wrote, “New Year New Me! Dekho delicious soup ka meri body pe asar. Ekdum killer look hai na?”
The post not only surprised and delighted Bajpayee’s admirers but also garnered reactions from various celebrities. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap playfully referred to Bajpayee as “Chuppe Rustom,” while actor Sunil Grover exclaimed, “Aag laga di aapne internet pe!”
As for the series Killer Soup, a dark comedy crime thriller, it features Manoj Bajpayee in a dual role opposite the talented actress Konkona Sensharma.
Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, the show made its debut on Netflix on January 11, 2024, and has since received widespread acclaim for its engaging story, witty humor, and stellar performances by the cast.
