Pankaj Tripathi’s latest film, “Main Atal Hoon,” graced the theaters on January 19, sparking a mixed response from audiences and critics alike. Despite the diverse reviews, the Ravi Jadhav-directed movie struggled to make a significant impact on its opening day, recording a modest earning of Rs 1 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
The Hindi belts witnessed an overall occupancy of 9.39 percent on January 19, with the morning shows holding a 6.11 percent occupancy and an increase to 8.28 percent in the evening. While the film may have faced challenges on its debut, the weekend ahead is anticipated to boost its box office performance.
“Main Atal Hoon,” directed by Ravi Jadhav and co-written by Rishi Virmani, explores the life of the late former Indian Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Produced by Bhanushali Studios Limited and Legend Studios, the movie features a cast including Piyush Mishra, Raja Rameshkumar Sevak, Daya Shankar Pandey, Pramod Pathak, Paayal Kapoor Nair, Harshad Kumar, Prasanna Ketkar, Haresh Khatri, Paula McGlynn, and Gauri Sukhtankar.
In a review Showsha, the film’s portrayal of Atal Bihari Vajpayee by Pankaj Tripathi received high praise. The review highlighted Tripathi’s impeccable performance, noting that he wisely refrained from altering his voice or mimicking mannerisms, allowing for a convincing transformation into the former prime minister.
Despite some flaws, the film was commended as an honest attempt, elevated by Tripathi’s stellar performance and offering a captivating glimpse into Vajpayee’s political journey.
