The movie “Leo,” featuring Thalapathy Vijay and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, experienced a slow start at the box office on Friday but made a remarkable comeback on its third day, collecting approximately Rs 40 crore nett in the domestic market.
The film’s performance exceeded that of Nelson’s Rajinikanth-starrer “Jailer” during its initial three days. Critics have lauded the director’s ability to showcase Vijay’s talent. The movie also boasts a stellar cast, including Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, and Madonna Sebastian.
After an initially sluggish opening at the box office on Friday, “Leo,” starring Thalapathy Vijay and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, made a strong resurgence on its third day in theaters, generating impressive numbers on a Saturday.
According to recent reports, “Leo” garnered an estimated Rs 40 crore nett at the domestic box office on its third day, marking a notable 11.88% increase in earnings compared to Day 2, which amounted to Rs 35.25 crore. With this surge, “Leo” has now achieved a total domestic net collection of Rs 140.05 crore. Moreover, in just three days, the film’s worldwide gross has crossed the impressive Rs 200-crore mark.
Although the film’s performance had temporarily dipped in the Tamil market on Friday, it made a remarkable recovery on Saturday. The morning show occupancy in the state stood at 65.73%, which then increased to 79.51% during the evening screenings, signifying significant improvement compared to the previous day.
The movie’s performance has been truly remarkable, surpassing the daily earnings of Nelson’s Rajinikanth-starrer “Jailer” during its theatrical run. “Jailer,” released on a Thursday, had accumulated earnings of Rs 48.35 crore, Rs 25.75 crore, and Rs 34.3 crore, respectively, during its first three days.

Aside from Vijay, the film also features an ensemble cast, including Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mathew Thomas, and Madonna Sebastian in pivotal roles. The music and background score were composed by the talented Anirudh Ravichander.
