Becomes the Highest Grossing Hindi Film in India Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, a sequel to the blockbuster hit Gadar – Ek Prem Katha from 22 years ago, has taken everyone by surprise with its box office success.
The film has now broken the record set by Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan as the highest-earning Hindi film in India. Pathaan held the record with Rs 524.53 crore in earnings, while Gadar 2 has collected Rs 524.75 crore, with just a slight difference in figures. However, records are records, and Gadar 2 has etched its name in Indian cinema history, following the release of Pathaan and Gadar earlier this year.
It will be intriguing to see how long Gadar 2 can maintain this record, especially since Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan in Hindi has already reached Rs 519.69 crore, as per reports. In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Anil Sharma, the director of the film, commented on its massive success. He said, “But I believe there is no magic in this from my side, it is all because of the blessings of god and my parents.
It is God who has decided my happiness and my sorrow, so I can’t take credit for this feat.” He also stated, “I’m someone who believes my success is not my success and my failure is not my failure, this is the upbringing my grandfather gave me. I was taught that what is going to happen will happen, if you are dumb you will cry over it, if you are smart you will have a smile on your face. I have seen a lot of good and bad times and I have taken both with the same face.
