The third installment of the popular comedy series, Fukrey, hit theaters on Friday, and it made an impressive opening day collection of ₹8.82 crore, according to Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh. However, the film’s performance in Maharashtra was somewhat affected due to the ongoing Ganpati Visarjan festivities.
Taran Adarsh, in his social media post on X (formerly known as Twitter), shared the film’s box office report and mentioned, “Fukrey 3 fares well on Day 1… Evening / night shows perform better… Biz in Maharashtra affected due to Ganpati Visarjan… Needs to witness substantial growth from Fri – Mon for a strong, impressive total… Thu ₹ 8.82 cr. India biz. Box office.”
Fukrey 3 continues to follow the hilarious misadventures of four friends: Hunny (Pulkit Samrat), Choocha (Varun Sharma), Lali (Manjot Singh), and Panditji (Pankaj Tripathi), along with their nemesis, Bholi Punjaban (Richa Chadha).
However, the film received mixed reviews from critics, with Saibal Chatterjee from NDTV giving it 1.5 stars out of 5. He noted that while Varun Sharma’s performance shines, Choocha’s antics have lost their comedic charm, and other characters like Pulkit Samrat and Manjot Singh play more minor roles in Fukrey 3.
Directed by Mrighdeep Lamba, Fukrey 3 features an ensemble cast including Varun Sharma, Pulkit Samrat, Richa Chadha, Pankaj Tripathi, and Manjot Singh. Notably, Ali Fazal, who appeared in the previous two Fukrey films, was not part of this installment. The movie has been produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment.
