Ektaa Kapoor’s Witty Comebacks: Handling Trolls with Grace and Humor

Ektaa Kapoor, a prominent producer known for her active presence on social media, recently demonstrated her skill in dealing with online trolls. She responded to several users on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) with a dose of wit and humor.

One user questioned her about making ‘adult movies,’ to which Ektaa delivered a savage comeback. She confidently responded, “No, I’m an adult, so I will make adult movies.”

In another instance, a user simply wrote, “Shame on you.” Ektaa’s response? “Ok, shame on me.”

Yet another user blamed Ekta Kapoor and Karan Johar for allegedly “ruining the nation.” The tweet accused them of “bigadao[ruining] pure India.” Ektaa’s response was a nonchalant “Hmmmmmm!”

The same user later added, “Aap dono [You both, referring to Ekta Kapoor and Karan Johar] ki wajah se India me jyada divorce hone lage [There is an increase in divorces in India because of both of you].” Ektaa’s response remained consistent with her previous reply, as she replied with another “Hmmmmmmm hmmmmmm.”

Turning our focus to her professional endeavors, Ektaa Kapoor recently produced a women-centric film titled ‘Thank You For Coming.’ The movie boasts a stellar cast, including Bhumi Pednekar, Kusha Kapila, Dolly Singh, Shibani Bedi, and Shehnaaz Gill. Notably, the film had its premiere at the 46th 2023 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

‘Thank You For Coming’ explores the lives of five friends as they navigate the concept of female sexual pleasure. Bhumi Pednekar, who plays a significant role in the film, received immense praise for her performance. She expressed her gratitude by saying, “The fact that I have been compared to all-time acting greats like Carole Lombard and Goldie Hawn by the media for my performance in Thank You For Coming is a hugely gratifying validation that will forever be special for me.”

Bhumi went on to discuss her passion for challenging roles, stating, “As an actor, I have only wanted to swim against the tide. The greater the challenge, the harder the task at hand, the more the opportunity to break the norm, this kind of environment is my thriving spot. I’m hugely grateful to all the filmmakers who have seen me as an actor who will always try and go that extra mile for their vision.”

Expressing her appreciation for the filmmakers, Bhumi thanked the talented director Karan Boolani and the visionary producers Rhea Kapoor and Ektaa Kapoor. She emphasized the film’s importance in shedding light on women’s rights and the celebration of womanhood.

In conclusion, Ektaa Kapoor’s ability to handle trolls with grace and humor on social media showcases her resilience and wit. Alongside her social media prowess, her recent film ‘Thank You For Coming’ adds to her impressive portfolio, addressing significant themes surrounding female empowerment and sexual liberation.
