‘Kannur Squad’ is one of the most anticipated crime dramas of 2023, with Mammootty in the central role. The film marks the directorial debut of Roby Varghese Raj and is produced by Mammootty’s production company. Alongside Mammootty, the movie features a talented ensemble cast including Vijayaraghavan, Rony David Raj, Kishore Kumar G, Shabareesh Varma, and Sunny Wayne.

Released on September 28, ‘Kannur Squad’ took on ‘Chandramukhi 2’ in a battle for box office supremacy. The film garnered Rs 4.50 Crore on its fourth day, pushing its total collection to approximately Rs 12.55 Crore. Despite a slow start, ‘Kannur Squad’ is steadily progressing, with expectations of soon joining the coveted Rs 20 Crore club.

The film unfolds a thrilling narrative where a team of investigative officers embarks on a mission to capture dangerous criminals, guided by Mammootty’s character. Inspired by true events, the movie marks Mammootty’s first portrayal of a police officer in a rank below a sub-inspector.

Following its theatrical run, ‘Kannur Squad’ is set to premiere on the streaming platform Sony LIV. Although the official OTT release date is yet to be confirmed by the makers, anticipation for the film’s online debut is on the rise.
