Renowned filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently shared his admiration for Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s latest work, “12th Fail,” expressing a renewed sense of hope and energy. In a heartfelt note, Kashyap commended Chopra for crafting a masterpiece that defies mainstream conventions, setting a new benchmark for storytellers like himself.

In the note, Kashyap emphasized the film’s brilliance in breaking away from traditional norms. He lauded Chopra’s use of simple long shots, especially in capturing the crowd scenes of Mukherji Nagar, creating an immersive experience that unfolds naturally. Kashyap was particularly impressed by the sparse background score, noting how Chopra’s faith in his craft and actors shines through without resorting to emotional manipulation.

Expressing his gratitude, Kashyap extended a shout-out to the entire team, including actors Vikrant Massey, Medha Shankar, Anshumaan Pushkar, Anant V Joshi, cinematographer Ranga, production designer, and music directors and writers. He urged viewers to give the film a shot, praising it as a must-watch available on HotStar.

Inspired by Chopra’s work, Kashyap confessed, “A filmmaker at the peak of his storytelling and at this age. Means I have hope too.” This sentiment reflects the impact that “12th Fail” had on Kashyap, motivating him to #restart and embrace a fresh creative journey.

Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur and others echoed Kashyap’s sentiments in the comments section, while Rohit Shetty shared his appreciation for the real-life hero behind the film, IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma. Shetty encouraged viewers to witness the inspiring story, especially for students and youngsters.
