Sensex Surges to 71,705 Points, Nifty Secures Position Above 21,620 Mark: Market Insights

On Friday, the benchmark Sensex and Nifty indices witnessed an upward trajectory, with the Sensex advancing by 0.72% to reach 71,705.46 points, and the Nifty registering a 0.74% gain, closing at 21,622.4 points.

The midcap stocks mirrored this positive trend, with the Nifty Midcap 50 showing a bullish stance and gaining 1.37% to conclude at 13,477.2 points.

Biggest Winners and Losers Unveiled NIFTY PSE, NIFTY INFRA, and NIFTY CONSUMPTION emerged as the top-performing sectors on Friday, experiencing gains of 2.8%, 1.59%, and 1.44%, respectively. Notably, ONGC, Bharti Airtel, and NTPC secured the position of the day’s biggest stock gainers, with increases of 3.55%, 3.31%, and 3.19%, respectively. Conversely, IndusInd Bank, Kotak Mahindra, and HDFC Bank found themselves as the most losing stocks, witnessing declines of 3.25%, 0.92%, and 0.76%, respectively.

A Global Market Glance While Asian markets concluded on a negative note, with the Shanghai Composite Index, Hang Seng, and Nikkei closing at 2,832.28 points, 15,308.69 points, and 35,963.27 points, respectively, the US market saw a positive movement, with NASDAQ advancing by 1.35% to 15,055.65 points.

Currency and Commodity Update In the forex trade, the Indian Rupee (INR) strengthened by 0.08%, settling at Rs. 83.06 against the US Dollar. Gold futures prices surged by 0.42% to reach Rs. 62,027, while silver futures maintained a steady position at Rs. 71,761. Crude oil futures edged up by $0.48, or 0.65%, reaching $74.61 per barrel.

Fuel Prices in Major Cities Delhi witnessed unchanged fuel prices on Friday, with diesel priced at Rs. 89.66/liter and petrol at Rs. 96.76/liter. In Mumbai, diesel costs Rs. 94.25 per liter, and petrol is priced at Rs. 106.29 per liter.

Cryptocurrency Performance In the cryptocurrency realm, Bitcoin saw a 3.14% decline, trading at $41,348.54. Ethereum was down by 2.24%, priced at $2,479.25. BNB experienced a 0.69% increase, priced at $313.15, while Cardano faced a 4.28% dip, reaching $0.4992. Dogecoin, down 2.63% from yesterday, was trading at $0.07825.
