Leaked patent images of Tata Motors’ highly anticipated Harrier EV have recently emerged, providing a glimpse into the upcoming electric flagship set to launch in 2024. This electric marvel is poised to compete with Mahindra’s XUV800 electric SUV, also expected to hit the market this year.
The Harrier EV is anticipated to showcase a futuristic design, featuring significant exterior changes compared to its diesel counterpart. One notable alteration is the closed grille design with horizontal slats, replacing the traditional grille and eliminating the need for extensive air intake.
A lower grille with vertical slats will cool the advanced battery system. The front-end will boast a sleek, modern triangular headlight design and LED DRLs positioned above.
Inside, the Harrier EV promises a premium experience with a two-spoke steering wheel adorned with an illuminated Tata logo, an ADAS suite, a panoramic sunroof, touch-based HVAC controls, and a 360-degree surround view camera. Additional highlights include automatic climate control, ventilated and powered front seats, wireless charging, air purifier, and ambient lighting. Tata Motors may introduce best-in-class and segment-first features.
Built on Tata Motors’ advanced Gen II EV architecture, the Harrier EV is expected to surpass the Nexon EV’s Gen I platform. It is projected to house a robust battery pack ranging from 60kWh to 80kWh, providing an impressive range of approximately 500km on a full charge.
With an estimated starting price of around Rs. 35 lakh (ex-showroom), the Harrier EV is gearing up for a competitive showdown with Mahindra’s XUV800 electric SUV. As excitement builds, these leaked images offer a tantalizing preview of what’s to come.
