Maruti Suzuki Jimny Introduces Thunder Edition and Massive Price Cut – What’s New?

Published on

Maruti Suzuki has launched the Jimny Thunder Edition in India, introducing a range of aesthetic upgrades for the SUV. The Thunder Edition, available as an optional package across all Jimny variants, boasts exterior and interior enhancements, enhancing its appeal. Notably, the base Zeta variant now starts at a significantly reduced price of Rs. 10.74 lakh, reflecting a massive Rs. 2 lakh price cut.

The Thunder Edition brings a host of exterior modifications, including front bumper garnish, skid plates, door visors, and various garnishes for both manual and automatic transmission variants. Grip covers in tan, off-roader dual-stroke finish, and a tan leather steering wheel add a unique touch to the Thunder Edition.

While both transmission variants receive most upgrades, the manual variant lacks certain features like designer mats and graphic designs. Interested buyers can inquire about the pricing of this optional package at nearby Maruti Suzuki dealerships.

In a significant move, Maruti Suzuki offers heavy discounts on the Jimny, reducing the starting price to Rs. 10.74 lakh from the previous Rs. 12.74 lakh for the base variant. Additionally, the Jimny Alpha variant enjoys a Rs. 1 lakh discount.

Moreover, the made-in-India Jimny five-door variant is now being exported to various international markets, including South America, the Middle East, and Africa, accounting for around 3,000 units dispatched monthly from India.

Although the Thunder Edition focuses on cosmetic enhancements, there are no mechanical changes. All Jimny variants feature the K15B naturally aspirated petrol engine, delivering 104 PS power and 134.2 Nm torque. These variants offer 5-Speed manual and 4-Speed automatic transmission options across Zeta and Alpha variants.
