Hero MotoCorp Roars to the Top Indian Two-Wheeler Sales Surge in January 2024

In a dynamic turn of events, January 2024 witnessed a robust uptick in India’s two-wheeler market, showcasing growth for the leading manufacturers on both month-on-month (MoM) and year-on-year (YoY) fronts.

After a sluggish December 2023, major players such as Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, Suzuki, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), TVS Motor Company, and Royal Enfield reported noteworthy increases in their sales figures.

Hero MotoCorp’s Dominance:

Hero MotoCorp emerged as the front-runner, clocking in impressive sales of 4,20,934 two-wheelers in January 2024. This marked an 11.40% surge from the previous month and a substantial 20.46% rise compared to January 2023. The company’s foray into the premium bike segment with the Mavrick 440 is set to fortify its market position even further.

Standout Performances:

Honda, TVS, and Suzuki showcased commendable performances, posting growth rates of 33.57%, 24.77%, and a milestone for Suzuki, surpassing the 80,000-unit mark in one month. Suzuki’s achievement included a 16.64% increase over December 2023 and a remarkable 21.60% rise compared to January 2023, highlighted by the debut of the GSX-8R sports bike and the V-Strom 800DE adventure tourer at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024.

Bajaj and Royal Enfield’s Stride:

Bajaj reported a noteworthy sales figure of 1,93,350 units, reflecting a 22% increase from December 2023 and an impressive 35.81% surge compared to January 2023. Meanwhile, Royal Enfield witnessed a 23.15% rise from December 2023 and a modest 4.22% uptick compared to January 2023, showcasing their steady performance in the competitive landscape.
