MG Motor has officially launched the 2024 version of the Astor in India, starting at an attractive price of Rs. 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom). This revamped model introduces a new Sprint trim, expanding the existing lineup that includes Shine, Select, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro variants.
As MG’s entry-level SUV in the Indian market, the Astor faces competition from recently introduced models like the Kia Sonet and the upcoming Hyundai CRETA.
The 2024 MG Astor brings a host of new features, including the i-Smart 2.0 connected car technology with over 80 functions and a Jio-powered voice recognition system. Noteworthy additions comprise a digital key function with an advanced anti-theft component, ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, auto-dimming IRVM, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
For an enhanced driving experience, the mid-size SUV now includes a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree-view surround camera, and a Level-2 ADAS suite.
While the Astor receives significant upgrades and introduces a new trim, the powertrain options remain consistent. The SUV continues to be powered by a 1.5-liter petrol engine and a 1.3-liter turbo-petrol motor, with transmission options including a five-speed manual, CVT, and a six-speed torque converter unit.
